Our Legacy

The Journey of Lake Swamp Baptist Church

Lake Swamp Baptist Church has a rich history rooted in faith and community service. Established in the early 20th century, it has grown into a vibrant congregation dedicated to spreading the message of Jesus Christ. As a hub for fellowship and guidance, we have continually sought to meet the spiritual needs of our community while remaining steadfast in our mission to disciple and serve.

Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Dewayne Nobles

Pastor Dewayne Nobles serves as pastor of Lake Swamp Baptist Church. Originally from Tabor City, North Carolina, he graduated from Tabor City High School in 1992. Afterwards, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he completed a 22-year career as an intelligence analyst and a drone operator. After an honorable retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant, Pastor Dewayne returned to his roots in Tabor City, North Carolina. In 2021, he graduated Andersonville Theological Seminary with Summa Cum Laude honor. He is married to Laura Boyd Nobles and has three children: Dristan (23), Yana (17), and Skye (14).
